WHAT IS THE WORLD PRAYER BOARD?

The World Prayer Board came about by inspiration after receiving such a great answer to prayer.

I am the author of the daily devotional “The Christian Worker’s Spiritual Food”. In January 2003, my wife was about to have serious surgery. Knowing that the scriptures encourage us to pray for each other, I submitted a prayer request to the readers of the daily devotional. The devotional is sent out all over the world each day and soon a vast outpour of support letters were returning.

When the day of surgery came, my wife and I departed to the hospital. Upon arrival in the parking lot, an electric car showed up and a gentleman offered a ride to the door. That was cool!

We walked in the door and the receptionist said that they were ready for us, so we went to the surgical center.

Walking through the door the whole team welcomed us and soon my wife was in gown and papers were signed.

My pastor and his wife arrived and we had to quickly pray for her. He prayed let Tammy fly on the wings of angels through this time of her life. After saying Amen, she was whisked away.

From parking lot to the surgery room was quick and smooth, only 10 minutes! That was strange.

My pastor said, “Want to get some breakfast?”

Therefore, we went out to eat. I was in so much peace.

We talked about church business and the TCW Ministry and about our children. When we returned to the hospital after a short wait the doctor approached us, said how the surgery went very smooth, and was much needed. He said that after an hour recovery I could see her.

When I saw her I was amazed how alert and up she was. She had no problems and her recovery time was quick. So quick, days later, the doctor mentioned how they were impressed.

She came through it like on the wings of angels and everything was great, effortless.

I felt the prayers of the readers and later realized we had whole congregations in Vietnam, Kenya, India, and Nigeria praying for us. It is to the prayer support that I attribute such a great experience.

Realizing that the Lord allowed me to experience such prayer support, I have responded by providing a place for others to experience the same.
